Building Blocks for Your Perfect Bed

Thread Count:

We encourage you to find the sheets that are right for you. Remember, thread count is only part of the story, it reflects the number of threads in a square inch of fabric. What it does not tell you is what grade of cotton was used, or how the fabric was finished, or what weave was used. All of these factors play an important role in determining the quality and feel of a fabric. In the end, it is the quality and the feel of the fabric that will deliver the comfort and beauty that is important to you.

Cotton Sateen:

Cotton Sateen has a distinct but subtle sheen which gives it a luxurious appearance. The one yarn under and three or more yarns over weave exposes more thread surface and creates a buttery softness. Naturally wrinkle-resistant, Sateen is more tightly woven and therefore typically heavier in weight than Percale, perfect for cooler sleepers.

Cotton Percale:

Lightweight and airy, cotton percale sheets are crisp and cool to the touch making them perfect for hot sleepers. A traditional one-yarn-over and one-yarn-under weave creates a breathable sheet that’s smooth to touch, feels dry against the skin, and is highly durable. Percale’s superior durability means it won’t pill over time.

Long Staple Cotton:

Fine yarn from long-staple cotton provides softness and durability while ensuring less pilling. These extra-long cotton fibres are 50 per cent longer than those of standard cotton, resulting in a sheet that is softer, stronger and longer-lasting than standard cotton sheets.

Organic Cotton:

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

A textile product carrying the GOTS label grade ‘organic’ must contain a minimum of 95% certified organic fibres whereas a product with the label grade ‘made with organic’ must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres

 Jacquard Fabric:

In Jacquard fabric, the pattern and colours are incorporated into the weave instead of being printed or dyed onto the surface of the fabric. The term ‘Jacquard’ indicates how the pattern is woven, not the specific pattern itself. It is the jacquard weave that creates the pattern that you see in the textile.
